Breakfast Woes

As a well brought-up English kid, I was pretty much weaned on Marmite sandwiches. Living in the USA, I still try to keep a stock of Marmite to have on my breakfast toast. But stocks do get exhausted and mine has!

My American friends and family cannot really relate to Marmite, but for me it makes the start of the day tolerable.

Kevin Rudd obviously had a similar problem in Mexico recently with his breakfast Vegemite!

My solution, until more supplies arrive, is to make my vegan cheese (see the recipes section) with about 3tsp of prepared horseradish added, spread it on lightly toasted bread and pop it under the grill (broiler) to get a sort of "cheese on toast" result. Not a perfect solution – but not too bad.
