The first plans for this design – the early plans for traditional carvel construction – were put on the site a week or two ago.

Several people have enquired about a lines plan. Well, I am just tweaking the aft end of the boat a little so that the diagonals run a little more to my liking. I had thought that i would find the time to do this already but life hasn't quite turned out like that. But they will come.

We are off to Australia to visit our family over christmas and the new year – but I am working while we are there, so I am thinking that I will be able to get to these in the next week or so.

I guess I am a slow designer!

Thanks George,
Great design.
I look forward to viewing your progress on the wood-epoxy version as it becomes available on your web-site....
Have an enjoyable festive season downunder.

Australia was great. We really love Australia. Coming back to deep sub-zero temperatures in Maine was a bit of a shock to the system. Overeating (and drinking) in Australia was also a bit of a shock to the system. So there's lots of work to do on the Concept2 indoor rower (my personal exercise/sport).

We hadn't visited our family in Australia for over three years, nor seen them at all for nearly 18 months; so, with two lovely granddaughters under 3 years old, I didn't get quite as much work done as planned ....

I will try to progress the Deben 5-tonner however, now that we are back in the swing of things here in wintery Maine. I'm really glad that the design is finding interest.

Good morning and thank-you for the work on the Deben! I just came across her plans and fell in love with her.

Will the wood epoxy version be coming out?

Do I understand correctly that the "instructions" will be on this forum rather than as a PDF etc?

thanks in advance for all the help

I'm glad you like the design!

I am intending to draw up plans for a wood-epoxy version as well as a traditional carvel construction version. Currently, a lot of my time is going on Design 152, which is a new design in build at the moment (see new Designs).

Yes, I had though to put the instruction notes initially on the forum as they will tend to appear in shorter sections than usual. Once they are all complete, I will probably combine them into about 5 PDF document.

Yeah I can totally understand about the being busy part!
I will keep an eye out for the instructions and any remaining 140 plans to come.

I am hoping to start either the bent timbers or the sawn ones this fall and work on them over the winter, ready for a spring start.

Thanks for the hard work
