Hi George,
I'm interested in the doghouse version of number 165. How would it be with a cat ketch rig? Would this be feasible and work out ok with the interior? Yachts look so nicely balanced with this rig and so easy for old blokes to tack!

Hi Pete

Yes a cat rig would work fine. The mast would be stepped on the keel, just at the foot of the twin berths, so it wouldn't interfere with the accommodation at all.

I would probably add another frame in the area so that there was one fwd and one aft of the mast – not a problem to do at all. And the existing mast frame (for the gaff main) would get simpler.

I was already planning a mizzen, so that's not a problem either!

We are moving along nicely with the design and all the main structures, frames etc. are drawn and available for download. The CNC components will follow shortly, together with the cockpit structures and the interior furniture.

Cheers - George
