I saw a very interesting mainsheet way of thinking recently. It involves a single connection point at the center of the aft part of the bridge deck with a conventional mainsheeting system, but no traveler. The boom was orientation was served by a ridged vang so if you needed to level the boom, say in a boom out - down wind situation, the ridged vang was drawn in. Another benefit is little need of a boom toping lift. As a beer can racer of simple skills, I can say, a traveler in the cockpit or cabin top is a pain in the A$$. Can anyone think of disadvantages?
