Hi, Betty and I ordered our Selestra35 1 Jan 1983 and sailed it home from England June 1984. We still own and love her completely. We sailed her to Bermuda 10 times, now we poke around Newport, Ri. She still is a stout boat and a passage maker. Thank you, Ron Feher

Hi Ron and Betty

How wonderful to hear from you. I'm so glad that Raison Detre is still going strong and that you still own her and sail her.

1983 seems a long time ago doesn't it? So many changes all around us since then – it's nice to think some things have remained pretty constant.

Thank you so much for getting in touch. If you have photos of the boat, I would very much like some.

Best regards

George I will attempt to send a set of photo I took last week. I re-did the threadmaster in 2000 and added a hard dodger frame with opening front windshield panels. I am planing to paint the top sides this year. I will send the photo's to your email address.

Hi Ron

Thank you so much for the photos. The boat looks terrific. The hard dodger is a really good addition.

As a matter of interest, how often have the topsides needed re-painting and was the deck plating in good condition when you renewed the treadmaster – any corrosion etc?

best regards
